Position Sensors

Position Sensors
MicroNav interface products are sensor-based solutions that bring intuitive user controls to reduced form factor handheld consumer electronic devices. MicroNav products provide quick menu navigation, 4-way or 360-degree pointing control, pad input and touch-switching capabilities for mobile handsets, handheld MP3 players, portable e-mail clients, tablet PCs and many other devices and applications.
MicroNav 360

The MicroNav 360 is a compact sensor that provides complete mouse navigation functionality for portable electronics devices, such as mobile handsets, micro and handheld e-mail clients, tablet PCs, digital recorders, mobile phones and remote controls. MicroNav 360 measures only 10mm x 10mm x 0.4mm, making it the viable mouse navigation solution of choice for the smallest handheld devices, using Interlink Electronics' patented Force Sensing Resistor (FSR).

MicroNav Array

The MicroNav Array is a grid-pattern sensor concept used for menu control, location identification, gaming or pressure sensing. It is designed to gather information pertaining to the location or pressure applied by a user's fingertip on a mobile phone or other handheld device. Easy integration with host processors, availability of a variety of graphic overlays including metal film, and unique shapes and sizes make the MicroNav Array application especially designer friendly.

MicroNav Ring

The MicroNav Ring enables intuitive scrolling and menu navigation functionality for consumer electronic devices in an easy to integrate, high resolution, ultra low-power package. It is ideal for media players, mobile phones, control panels, medical instruments, and home entertainment devices to control streaming media, audio, balance, menus, play lists and gaming functions that involve rotation and steering. The sensor can be integrated directly into the device's host processor without the need for a dedicated microprocessor.

MicroNav Strip

The MicroNav Strip is a linear position sensor for menu navigation and control. It functions as a linear potentiometer with the ability to detect a user's force for high rate scrolling and a more intuitive user experience. The MicroNav Strip is an easy to integrate, high resolution, ultra low-power package ideal for media players, mobile phones, control panels, medical instruments and home entertainment devices. It is designed to and can be integrated directly into the device's host processor without the need for a dedicated microprocessor.

VersaPad

The VersaPad is a customizable input touchpad solution for fingertip-based cursor pointing or stylus-based pen input for electronic signature and character recognition applications. The sensor outputs both position and force data, which can be used as a user interface for mobile phones, digital media players or other portable electronics devices. The pad size can be designed to fit any most applications, and the sensor can be integrated directly into the device's host processor without the need for a dedicated microprocessor.
